Ray Macke has build a great looking Hankinson design (check out the build log
here). Last fall he had the chance to make a hurried, late season run on the Cumberland River. Ray has a great narrative/story telling style, and there’s some good humor and enjoyment in this log.
Check out his adventures. We’ve probably all been there, or will be there someday.
Nice build of a duckboat – some emphasis on scavenged wood, which is a nice free resource at times. Good closeup pictures of some of the chine construction details, etc.

Lincoln Electric has a email newsletter that includes personal "I Did It" type stories. The latest issue covered Tuesday’s Child, a nice looking 42 foot boat built by Wayne Wardle and his wife.

This is a fun looking little project in the
ShantyBoat frame of mind. The entire website is interesting… a "get ‘er done" type mindset 🙂
I must say that frame they have built certainly looks tough enough!

Hammocks by Deckhand Manufacturing fame, sent me this picture of his very nice 38 ft. home built ketch.
Launched November 17, 1989, after having started construction in 1976, Mark continues to enjoy his boat, recently returning from Mexico.
Just a quick fun one for the home boat builders… to get on the water it doesn’t always have to be steel, marine ply and epoxy 🙂
