Didn’t get a good picture (and no picture yet of the completed hatch cover), but Dane and I got the framing done around the forward hatch, then built the hatch cover.
I think it came out decently. The hatch has one corner that got a little chewed (I slipped with the saw a little apparently), but a little epoxy will fix that up.
That will make the forward deck pretty watertight, and once I get some Xynole and more epoxy on there it will be quite nice.
Now that things are dry, the deck is quite stable and comfortable to walk on. I may add one brace piece on the bottom of the hatch cover if it seems to need it once we try standing on it.
