A Duckworks Magazine mailing list posting suggested these boats as something to look at for a lightweight (easy to carry to and from the water) set of boats for river cruising… they certainly are a little different.
The Geodesic designs for home construction have been interesting to me before… these boats take the same idea, a stiff, very light frame with a flexible covering. In this case a wood and Kevlar frame is covered in Dacron. One of their selling points is that you can build them in a small space without making huge messes, thus being able to work "inside" in a spare room or something.
