An interesting article that Small Craft Advisor has online… Michael Anderson has gone through several boats in finding one that meets his and his family’s needs. The article covers many of the trade-offs he’s made (and discovered needed to be made) between his "dream boat" and the salty, ocean-going craft that entailed, and the smaller, coastal sailor that wound up doing nearly all he needed and that allowed his wife to join him.

Points covered include boat type, types of cruising, trailerability and cost effectiveness (it doesn’t pay to have to buy a large tow vehicle if you wind up not towing it often) and seasickness.

Check it out… I found it interesting that his "large" boat would be a small boat for a lot of the U.S. crowd… like a lot of U.S. vs. European things 🙂
