Pat and Ali Schulte are a young couple who decided to get out of the rat-race for a while (a good while), buy a boat and cruise the world. It didn’t stop them for a minute that they knew very little about doing this πŸ™‚

They seem to have pretty much succeeded. Their detailed and extensive web site chronicals a multi-year trip around the world. Great photography and an engaging writing style.

One difference from most is that they detail their expenses… a good way to learn a little of what things cost.

There seem to be several detractors from their trip since they have "no experience and no real clue as to what they are doing", etc. I guess that I agree that they could be a danger to themselves or others, but I don’t think they really were, and I think there should be some relaxation of the "uppity" side of yachting… everybody has to learn and ask questions. They learned, I guarantee it πŸ™‚ And they are obviously intelligent people who were successful in the "real world" enough to buy a boat and take a few years off.

They are now finishing their cruise, seem to have their boat up for sale, and intend to start some land adventures next… probably be an interesting read πŸ™‚
