The Rolling Bridge, located on the Paddington Basin in London, was created by Thomas Heatherwick. It is twelve meters long and opens every Friday at noon.
Rather than a conventional opening bridge mechanism, consisting of a single rigid element that lifts to let boats pass, the Rolling Bridge gets out of the way by curling up until its two ends touch.

It's been a while since I've heard from DB and his nice little Origami Dinghy Barquito. Yesterday I got this nice video showing a Origami sailing away... looks like great fun!

This is a neat, two minute time lapse trip on a cruise ship making transit through the Panama Canal. Don't know if I'll ever get through there on my own, but this is certainly a neat view.
