A recent posting by a justifiably proud Dad over on Duckworks mailing list points us to some pictures of a very nice kayak. What's really special is that it was built by a 12 year old. Make sure and check out the link for more pictures. The design is the Little Dubber from Kayak Designs.

I wanted to point out the recent comment "Dory Building Shop at Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center" which has some links to some interesting classic wood boatbuilding still happening in Gloucester. Joey has a nice little blog going here. Not strictly boatbuilding, be definitely related to the sea and the lifestyle.

For you techie's out there... this is cute. For the non-techies, there are at least some nice boat pictures.

In my part of the States, the term "boat house" usually means a building where you store a boat (usually built over the water so that the boat can float right in and be fully covered and protected.

This site has a different use of the term, but looking at the craft, its fitting.

How do you tie two rivers together and get barges, boats and other shipping between them? If you are in Russia, you build a "float on/float off" train.
