U.S.S. Slater - Destroyer Escort

I"ve long enjoyed touring various ships that have been retired and put on display. I ran across the link to the U.S.S. Slater today... looks interesting. Being privately owned by a non-profit organization, they have used volunteer labor (retired Navy personnel and other interested folks) to restore and renovate the only WWII destroyer escort still afloat.  read more »
