Pumpkinseed Kayak
Submitted by cac on Thu, 2009-10-01 09:03This is a little different take on "stitch and glue" using canvas strips glued for the joints instead of thickened epoxy. I kind of like that idea. Canvas has been used for decades on boats (especially as deck covering) and is still popular with some builders. Put the canvas on, add some paint as "filler" and away you go. read more »

Securing a Kayak
Submitted by cac on Wed, 2011-11-23 23:58A quick "how-to" on using a PVC coated cable with large end pieces to secure a kayak or similar boat to a car roof.
Not full-proof, but something that would slow down the kids from opportunistically taking your boat.
Duct Tape and PVC Kayak
Submitted by cac on Sun, 2011-06-26 22:07Another PVC framed duct-tape boat. We've seen a couple of these before. Maybe I should try it on the leaking roof of my V28 build... hmmm.

Poo Canoe
Submitted by cac on Tue, 2009-07-28 18:14Well, it's really a kayak, but "Poo Kayak" just doesn't flow.
With a skin made from sheep poo paper, these folks are going to attempt to cross the English Channel.
Stream Dancer - electric kayak
Submitted by cac on Wed, 2009-07-08 21:20Stream Dancer is a slick design of a little one person fishing kayak. It's claim to fame is the ability to fully control it with your feet, leaving your hands free to fish.
What I found of interest was really the dual electric drive with screw/augers instead of traditional props. For this shallow water use, seem to be working well. read more »
Frogma
Submitted by cac on Sat, 2008-12-20 23:35For something a little different, a blog by a female kayaker, Bonnie, who lives in the New York/Hudson River area... my that just sounds cold to me, but apparently not a big problem.
Check it out.
Being the Continuing Adventures of a Woman and her Trusty Kayak in New York Harbor, the Hudson River, and Beyond. (with occasional political rants just to keep things lively!)
