A pointer from All About Houseboats (their site is worth checking out - you can get booking info through them or direct, it looks like) led me to the Mid-Lakes Navigation page where you can arrange to rent UK style narrowboats on the Erie canal.

We continue to see abandoned boats be a problem in the poor economic circumstances many people are experiencing. I saw articles on CNN and Fox News just today.

The Boggsville Boatel is another take on making practical use of some of the abandoned fiberglass hulls that marinas wind up collecting.

“What on earth were you thinking?” seemed to be the most popular response when friends first laid eyes upon my latest purchase; a 57’ Carri Craft named ‘The Aristocat’.

I'm glad David managed such a successful rebuild. From a sunken and scrapped mess of a hull, to a boat they enjoy. A true labor of love.

In my part of the States, the term "boat house" usually means a building where you store a boat (usually built over the water so that the boat can float right in and be fully covered and protected.

This site has a different use of the term, but looking at the craft, its fitting.
