How to use a Sextant

Bet you didn't know one animated picture could show you a bunch about using a sextant. Navigating these days is GPS and other electronic aids for most of us, but having a manual fallback only makes sense, especially if you are really embarking on a voyage.
I don't recommend this as the be-all, end-all knowledge base, but its an interesting start.

Ship Shape TV
Submitted by cac on Sun, 2007-09-09 22:56I mentioned a source of back episodes (Big Mouth Boat Supply) one time before, but realized that I never really referred to the show. John Greviskis is the host of this cable series. Each episode is 30 minutes and covers various boat building, repair and upkeep issues. They usually have a "project" to detail which is based around a certain manufacturer's products. They will have product experts showcase the materials used.
