After the Tiki 30 link, I wanted to point out Boatsmith. They seem to be doing nice work, and most importantly to me, are making some really great blogs and tips available on the web. A while back we had a link to the BitterEnd blog, an interesting (although sometimes a bit harsh) blog detailing the adventures of a vessel assist operator in the Pacific Northwest.

A recent posting on his site leads us to another couple of blogs of other vessel assistance people, these on the East coast. Sounds like the kind of things they deal with is about the same everywhere.  read more »

If you've followed some of the comments, it looked like Kolstrand Marine Supply had shut down. According to this comment that isn't totally correct.

I don't know the story or what's really going on, but if you are interested, you might give them a call at the numbers listed.

PassageMaker Magazine's most recent issue has a couple of responses to reader letters by the head of Independence Green Yachts. Don't know for sure if they will produce, but it looks like they are on the right track to making a fuel cell/solar type yacht.  read more »

Found a pointer on the ElectricBoats Mailing List to this nice little video of a 22' Calypso Classic with a Whisper XT Electric Outboard.

Don't know about the "world's first" claim, but a very nice boat... all solar/electric, carbon fiber, LCD touchscreen controls... all the fancy stuff.

Digg (a social networking/link site) recently promoted this video of a slick "expanding" table. We had coverage of this and similar tables (called by some Capstan Tables) before.  read more »
