A recent thread on the Electric Boats mailing list pointed me to L'escale Nautique #54, page 17. This includes a review of several of the new electric and gas small outboard motors: Honda 2.3 hp , a Mercury 2,5hp , Suzuki 2.5hp, Yam 2.5 hp and a Torqeedo Travel 801.

I don't read French so haven't read the article, but might be of interest to those who do (assuming you can track it down). Otherwise, check out the discussion on the mailing list.

Seems like the review was fairly positive concerning the Torqeedo, although there some "new device" problems, including ease of dropping the battery, delicate lower end, and price.
