Bolger's Diablo (15'x5') plans have been very popular and it seems to produce a well mannered, fast at low power, planing open boat. Since videos seem so popular, I wanted to put up a couple that Dan W (from the Bolger mailing list) made available.

This first is Dan and his son in a Diablo powered by an 1957 18hp Evinrude.



Of some interest for us "non-traditionalists" here's Dan's original setup... he had power provided by two 5.5hp Pacer Trash pumps. Jet drive, as it were.
