Rooting around in my pile of old books, I found this illustration, which reminded me of a model I’d seen as a boy in the London Science Museum, which has a fantastic collection of models of craft from around the world. read more »

MadCasts - podcasts
Submitted by cac on Wed, 2009-04-29 19:50Mad Mariner™ has recorded and is offering up quite a few podcasts/mp3/audio files for your listening pleasure. Listen on your PC or download to an iPod of the like.
Several of them have transcripts available if you prefer to read your content rather that listen to it.
I'm going to be hosted on one in the future, so stay tuned :-)
Window frames
Submitted by v28build on Wed, 2009-04-29 19:23Got home early today and really didn't feel like mucking with it... that's not good, but.
Did plane on the window frames a while. Really grinding worked better. Got them neatened up a little and a bit of thickened epoxy filling more cracks. Did find that the grinder would smooth out several of the areas where my routing hadn't come out very nice.
Hopefully they will come out ok. I really, really don't want to redo those frames.

AboveTheWaterline.net - Marine Outfitter
Submitted by cac on Mon, 2009-04-27 21:31This is a neat outfit that does a lot of different work with marine outfitting. Note the hybrid propulsion page... kind of a neat setup.
They also have their ToolBoat. Cute, solar powered little workboat.
Plans for the intheboatshed.net Ella skiff now online and available to download

At last I’ve managed to find a few hours to make up a plans package! I hope it was worth the wait. In a mass of material like this there will no doubt be an error or two, so if you find any, please let me know and I’ll put them right.
